Profile of the Priest

Back in 1968 a young man named Earl Beshears met one Jean Landry on a beach in Biloxi, Mississippi.  After a tour of duty in Vietnam Earl returned to marry Jean and in due time the young couple had a son, Aaron.  Aaron eventually grew up, married and had children of his own; the family now resides in Franklin, Tennessee.

Earl served as a prison warden in North Carolina and Maryland's Eastern Shore. Jean's career track took her into personnel and human resource management.

When Earl felt called to the ministry, he attended Virginia Theological Seminary.  He served as curate at Christ Church, St. Michaels, Maryland before becoming rector at St. Paul's.  As a priest, Earl often draws upon his experience as a prison warden.

About St. Paul's, Earl says, "This church is a gift from God and our outreach ministries are ways we share our love of each other and our love of neighbor.  These are ways we are blessed and ways we are blessing.  It is exciting to imagine the future God has in store for us, the new ministries awaiting us.  For me, I must say, it is truly a privilege to be a small part of the ministry at St. Paul's."

Earl and Jean enjoy traveling.  Jean likes reading, gardening and entertaining friends.  Earl enjoys reading, golf and boating.
